The Opportunity

Ensure the effective coordination and control of engineering works for a designated project through activities of technical, engineering, inspection, scheduling, planning, survey, procurement and quality control. The project engineer supports the senior project engineer in achieving safe, timely, and high‑quality project completion within budget. Reporting to the construction manager, you will provide technical, administrative, and HSEQS support to ensure project integrity and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the senior project engineer and construction manager to ensure the project is delivered to cost and time with the resources needed, leading to a high level of client satisfaction.
  • Identify and assess risk to the project and implement strategies to mitigate risk.
  • Cost and forecast control to assist the project managers with strategic planning.
  • Build effective and collaborative relationships to coordinate activities with supervisors.
  • Maintain quality, environmental, and safety systems across the project.
  • Liaise with subcontractors to monitor and control their performance, ensuring the quality and standard of workmanship performed both on and off site is in accordance with specifications and relevant procedures.
  • Manage construction budgets to allow accurate profit/loss forecasting and monitor the financial performance for certain aspects of the project.

Qualification and Competencies

  • Tertiary qualification in civil engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a project‑based engineering role across civil infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated experience with forecasting and budgeting.
  • Reviews design and translates it to written plans and drawings illustrating construction methodologies.
  • Ability to develop project delivery plans, evaluating and estimating commercial and technical risk.
  • Manages specific engineering tasks independently and contributes to the development of project plans and schedules, coordinating with team members and addressing routine issues with minimum supervision.
