What Youll Be Doing (position summary): The Project & Release analyst provides portfolio coordination and release management support for Equities Market Technology, ensuring delivery plans, release readiness, and governance controls are executed consistently. Partners with delivery, engineering, DevOps, and operations teams to coordinate release planning and pipeline-enabled release activities, and to support change governance requirements, producing documentation and artifacts in alignment with CIBC EDF framework, standards, and policies. How Youll Succeed (responsibilities): Work closely with Development Leads and Project/Program Managers to maintain integrated delivery and release plans, calendars, milestones, dependencies, and environment schedules across one or more squads/streams.
Coordinate end-to-end release management activities (scope, schedule, cutover, communications, runbooks) and ensure alignment with change windows and operational constraints. Facilitate governance routines (release readiness reviews, change/release approvals, risk/issue escalation) and maintain traceability of decisions, actions, and outcomes. Support the Enterprise Change Management (ECM) process for releases/changes, including change ticket preparation and coordination.
Ensure required EDF documentation and delivery artifacts are prepared, reviewed, stored, and audit-ready (e.g., release notes, implementation plans, test evidence summaries, risk/controls attestations, approvals). Partner with DevOps/engineering to coordinate pipeline-enabled deployments by managing schedules, readiness checks, required approvals/gates, and validation evidence for environment promotions; deployments are executed by DevOps/technical teams. Track and report release health metrics (readiness, defects, deployment outcomes, incidents, change success rate) and drive continuous improvement of release processes and controls.
Maintain RAID (risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies) logs; coordinate mitigation plans with delivery leads and escalate when thresholds are breached. Coordinate stakeholder communications for releases (status, go/no-go, cutover updates, post-release outcomes) across technology, operations, and business partners. Support post-release activities including verification, incident triage coordination, PIR/lessons learned, and closure of EDF artifacts and approvals.
CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: Works closely with Development Leads, Project/Program Managers, scrum masters, and product owners to coordinate scope, milestones, dependencies, and release readiness. Engages with ECM / Change Management, risk, and control partners to coordinate change governance checkpoints (e.g., CAB/approvals as applicable) and ensure change tickets and EDF artifacts meet required standards. Engages business stakeholders to align release scope, communications, and impact assessments; coordinates with Finance as needed for reporting, forecasting inputs, and governance packs.
Works with QA Leads and testing teams to coordinate test cycles, defect triage, and evidence required for release readiness and compliance. Interfaces with production support and operations teams for change windows, runbooks, cutover execution, and post-release validation. The role supports coordination, governance, documentation, and administrative control activities. JOB DIMENSIONS: Individual contributor role focused on portfolio coordination, release planning and coordination, and governance across one or more delivery streams (acting as a junior project coordination function).
Coordinates releases spanning multiple applications, environments, and shared services, ensuring end-to-end readiness and clear stakeholder communications. Applies governance standards and continuous improvement practices to strengthen release quality, control compliance, and operational stability. Experience: 4+ years of experience.
Who You Are (skills/qualifications): Must Have Skills: Minimum 4+ years of experience in PCO, release management, change governance, or technology delivery coordination within enterprise environments. Experience coordinating releases for business-critical platforms, including readiness checkpoints, cutovers, and post-release validation. Proficiency with project/work management and reporting tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps or similar) and strong skills in Excel and PowerPoint for status reporting, release reporting, and governance packs.
Working knowledge of project coordination tools and artifacts (e.g., MS Project, Microsoft Planner, Smartsheet or similar), including schedules, dependency tracking, RAID logs, action/decision logs, and meeting minutes. Strong documentation skills to produce and curate EDF artifacts (release notes, implementation/cutover plans, runbooks, approvals, evidence) with attention to detail. Understanding of release governance, change controls, risk/issue management, and audit-ready practices in a regulated environment.
Exposure to common release/deployment tooling and practices (e.g., Git, artifact repositories, automated testing, change ticketing systems) and environment management. Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills; able to run working sessions, drive actions to closure, and communicate clearly with Dev Leads, PMs, QA, operations, and business partners. Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong planning/tracking/reporting discipline (status reporting, RAID, decision/action logs) in a fast-paced environment with tight release timelines.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills Good to Have: Exposure to Capital Markets technology and operational practices (e.g., change windows, production support, audit/compliance) is a strong asset.
