Recruitment Details Programmer Analyst 2 Department: Innovation & Technology Designated Work Location: 6 th Floor, 510 Main Street ; Remote with designated work location Position Type: Temporary, 35 hours per week, Full-time, Until December 2027 Hours of Work: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday Salary: $2,419.05 - $2,985.21 bi-weekly as per the Analyst Programmer 2 Classification within the C.U.P.E. Job Profile Reporting to the Coordinator or Supervisor of Data & Applications, the Programmer Analyst 2 is a skilled and experienced professional who plays a critical role in the design, development, integration and maintenance of software systems.

The Programmer Analyst 2 is responsible for delivering high-quality software that meets the needs of customers and partners. The key responsibilities of a Programmer Analyst 2 include analyzing requirements, designing and implementing software solutions, collaborating with cross‑functional teams, and providing software / application support, and code development and maintenance for existing software systems. Success in this role requires a strong understanding of software development methodologies, along with hands‑on experience in technologies such as .NET, PowerBuilder, PL/SQL, and Classic ASP.

The role also requires experience working with a wide range of programming languages and technologies, strong problem‑solving and analytical skills, and excellent communication and collaboration abilities. A Programmer Analyst 2 must be able to work effectively in team environments, prioritize tasks, and manage time efficiently to meet project deadlines. As The Programmer Analyst 2, You Will Lead the implementation and support of commercial and custom applications.

Provide software / application support through code development maintenance, enhancement and optimization. Collaborate and communicate with team members, cross‑functional team, and stakeholders. Participate in gathering requirements, defining specifications, evaluating solutions, and assessing feasibility.

Maintain robust cybersecurity measures, safeguarding software applications and systems against potential threats and vulnerabilities. Your Education And Qualifications Include A university degree or diploma in a technology focused discipline or equivalent education and experience. Related certifications such as Microsoft Azure Developer Associate Scrum Developer, or comparable certifications would be an asset.

Two years of work‑related experience in a relevant application development and/or maintenance environment. Experience developing software for multiple platforms and technologies. Experience with software testing and quality assurance, including manual and automated testing techniques.

Experience with database systems, software development life cycle (SDLC), and basic understanding of system architecture. Extensive knowledge in programming languages. Good knowledge of databases, cloud computing, and other software development tools and technologies.

Strong knowledge of business and systems analysis. Strong attention to detail and commitment to software quality and reliability, and ability to produce high‑quality, error‑free code. Strong verbal communication skills.

Strong written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, be able to work effectively in a team environment. Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions.

Ability to adapt to changing technologies and new development methodologies. Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to be flexible and responsive to changing priorities and circumstances as well as the ability to work on diverse projects simultaneously. Ability to lead and mentor junior team members.

Ability to take initiative and drive projects forward with minimal supervision.
