Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Production Supervisor to lead onsite operations five days per week on the night shift (10:00 p.m. โ 6:00 a.m.) within a fast-paced manufacturing facility in Brampton.
This role is responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the production team, ensuring operations run safely, efficiently, and in line with quality and production targets. The successful candidate will be a strong people leader who is comfortable managing employees in a unionized environment, solving operational issues, and working closely with other departments to keep production moving.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a production team of approximately 15โ20 employees.
- Provide day-to-day work direction, coaching, performance feedback, and support to employees.
- Ensure production targets are achieved while maintaining a strong focus on health & safety, quality, and productivity.
- Monitor production performance, identify issues, and support root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Work cross-functionally with maintenance, processing, sanitation, and other departments to resolve operational issues.
- Take ownership of the overall production process, including understanding the condition, maintenance, and sanitation requirements of production equipment.
- Ensure GMPs, SOPs, quality standards, and food safety requirements are consistently followed.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, yield, waste reduction, and operational efficiency.
- Maintain a safe working environment by identifying hazards, addressing unsafe conditions, and reinforcing safe employee behaviours.
- Lead employees within a unionized environment and ensure policies, procedures, and the Collective Agreement are consistently followed.
- Monitor key performance indicators, including health and safety, quality, throughput, and production output.
- Support production scheduling, staffing, and operational planning as required.
- Provide flexibility to support alternate shifts when required for vacation or other operational coverage.
Key Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience working in a unionized environment.
- Strong people leadership skills with the ability to coach, develop, and manage production employees.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Experience with GMPs and food safety standards.
- Food and beverage manufacturing experience is an asset.
- Dairy manufacturing experience is an asset but not required.
- Strong problem-solving, prioritization, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively with maintenance and other departments to troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office is an asset.
- A college diploma or university degree in a related discipline is preferred.
- Must be available to work the 10:00 p.m. โ 6:00 a.m. night shift and have some flexibility to support alternate shifts when required.
