Role Description

Gateway 2 Europe is recruiting two Production Engineering Technicians for one of our clients in Hungary.

This is a full-time, on-site position in a modern manufacturing environment. The successful candidates will be responsible for inspecting, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting production machinery and automated equipment.

The role requires a strong technical mindset and a practical understanding of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and automated systems. Candidates will work closely with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure equipment reliability, minimize production downtime, and support continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect production machinery, automated systems, and related equipment

• Conduct preventive and routine maintenance activities

• Identify and troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical faults

• Support the operation and monitoring of automated production equipment

• Assist with equipment repairs, adjustments, installation, and performance improvements

• Respond to equipment breakdowns and help minimize production downtime

• Perform regular equipment condition and safety inspections

• Maintain accurate inspection, maintenance, and repair records

• Coordinate with production, engineering, and maintenance teams

• Support equipment optimization and continuous-improvement activities

• Ensure compliance with workplace safety, maintenance, and operational procedures

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, diploma, or relevant technical qualification in Automation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or another related technical field

• Knowledge of automated production equipment and industrial machinery

• Understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, or electrical systems

• Previous experience in equipment inspection, maintenance, or troubleshooting is preferred

• Experience operating or maintaining automated manufacturing equipment is an advantage

• Ability to identify technical faults and support practical repairs

• Strong equipment-technician mindset and willingness to work hands-on

• Good troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety

• Ability to maintain inspection and maintenance documentation

• Ability to communicate effectively in English

• Willingness to relocate to and work on-site in Hungary

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a manufacturing or factory environment

• Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance

• Familiarity with sensors, motors, control panels, pneumatic components, and hydraulic systems

• Basic knowledge of PLC-controlled or automated production equipment

• Previous international work experience is an advantage

Magyar Kártya and Relocation Support

Eligible selected candidates will be supported in applying for a Magyar Kártya residence permit, which may be issued for a period of up to three years, subject to the applicant meeting the applicable legal requirements and receiving final approval from the competent Hungarian authorities.

Gateway 2 Europe will coordinate and supervise the recruitment, documentation, residence-permit, and relocation process from the candidate’s selection until arrival and onboarding in Hungary.
