PPAYA Limited

LisboaFull-timeMid LevelOn-site

Job Description

Location: Hybrid/Remote - UK/Europe based

PPAYA is a UK-facing renewable energy matching and trading marketplace operating within the UK regulated electricity market. We’re building a complex, domain-heavy product for the UK energy market and are hiring a Product Analyst to own product refinement end-to-end. You’ll talk to UK customers, shape flows, and translate what you learn into clear specs and designs, that the engineering team can build from.

This is a customer-facing, output-oriented role. You’ll work directly with the CTO/founder and have real ownership over the front end of our product process, from “we should talk to X about Y” through to the user stories and Figma flows that go into the next sprint.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Run customer discovery and user research calls with UK customers, surfacing needs, validating ideas and synthesising findings
  • Work closely with a UI/UX designer to create roadmaps
  • Write clear user stories and acceptance criteria that engineering can implement from
  • Support roadmap and prioritisation decisions by helping shape what gets built next and why
  • Use data analysis and product metrics to track whether shipped features are working as intended

Personal skills and experience

  • Experience in a Product Analyst role at a software company
  • Comfortable using Figma for wireframing and prototyping, with a focus on solid flows rather than pixel-perfect design
  • Ability to conduct competitive analysis, research alternatives, spot gaps and translate insight into product direction
  • Native or fluent English, with the confidence to run regular discovery calls with UK clients
  • Strong customer-facing skills and the ability to have a strong presence on calls
  • Must have the ability to probe to gle in information but will also be a good listener
  • B2B SaaS or marketplace experience would be beneficial
  • Exposure to energy, utilities, fintech or another regulated domain would be helpful, although energy experience is not essential
  • Experience working with small or remote engineering teams would be advantageous
  • Comfort with Agile/Scrum rituals such as sprint planning and refinement would be useful

The ideal candidate

  • Technical skills: Figma, wireframing, prototyping, user stories, acceptance criteria, product analytics, competitive analysis and Agile/Scrum ways of working
  • Behavioural competencies: Comfortable with ambiguity, customer-empathetic, a good listener, adaptable and resilient
  • Values alignment: A commitment to sustainability, customer-focused service and building practical technology for the renewable energy market
  • Generous commission + bonus scheme, your success is your reward
  • 25 days annual leave + bank holidays + your birthday off allowing plenty of time to switch off and recharge
  • Private healthcare with Vitality (post probation) – because your wellbeing matters
  • Annual company getaway, recent years have spent time in Tuscany, the Algarve, and Budapest
  • Regular social events, our team works hard and celebrates together
  • Company pension, invest in your future

If you don't fit the exact job description, please get in touch if you're interested nonetheless as we value potential, adaptability, and passion - just as much as a checklist of skills. We’re always looking for great talent to grow with us.
