Job Title: Mid-Level Professional – Cold Rolling Mill / Rolling Mill Capex Procurement Location: Head Office, Taratala, Shyam Metalics Educational Qualification: B.E / B.Tech (Mechanical Engineering) Experience: Mid-Level (Relevant exposure in steel / rolling mill / capital equipment procurement preferred) Role Overview The role involves managing procurement activities related to Cold Rolling Mill and Rolling Mill capital expenditure (Capex), ensuring cost efficiency, technical alignment, and timely execution of procurement strategies. The incumbent will work closely with internal stakeholders, vendors, and project teams to support expansion and operational requirements. Key Responsibilities Lead procurement of Rolling Mill and Cold Rolling Mill Capex equipment and services Identify, evaluate, and develop vendor base for critical mechanical and plant equipment Conduct commercial and technical negotiations to ensure optimal pricing and terms Coordinate with engineering, projects, and finance teams for requirement finalization Ensure timely delivery of equipment aligned with project schedules Analyze cost structures and support budgeting and cost optimization initiatives Manage contract finalization, purchase order execution, and post-order vendor coordination Ensure compliance with procurement policies and internal governance standards Key Competencies Required Strong negotiation and vendor management skills Excellent written and verbal communication abilities Leadership capability with stakeholder management experience Strong technical understanding of mechanical systems in rolling mills Ability to manage multiple Capex projects simultaneously Analytical mindset with cost and value optimization focus Proficiency in MS Office and procurement documentation Preferred Attributes Exposure to steel plant / rolling mill projects preferred Experience in Capex procurement in heavy engineering or metal industry Strong coordination skills with cross-functional teams and senior leadership Result-oriented approach with ownership mindset If required, this can be further condensed into a 10-line JD or converted into an internal HR posting format.
