Job Description
Job Summary Plans, designs, validates and improves assembly systems, process' and equipment procedures for modular automotive assembly products. Education, Experience, and Skills University degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology 3 - 5 years of various manufacturing processes (stamping, injection molding, co-extrusion, fabrication, welding, assembly, etc.) and tooling experience Experience in automotive environment is preferred Excellent English communication skills (oral and written) Excellent organizational and time management skills Solid facilitation skills Advanced MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook) knowledge Knowledge in CAD: 3D Models, Drawings and GD&T; an asset Major Responsibilities Consistently develop, assess and implement continuous improvement projects in relation to current or future project planning. Improve efficiency of processes through lean manufacturing tools.
Analyse data and identify root causes of defects. Provide corrective actions in order to improve a particular process or product yield. Lead injection molding process optimization by analyzing defects, adjusting processing parameters, and implementing corrective actions to improve product quality, reduce scrap, and increase cycle efficiency.
Work on co-extrusion die design development and process development. Assist the Health & Safety team in the design and implementation of ergonomic projects. Make improvements to the production process by using 5S, Root-Cause Analysis, and Poka-Yoke to improve the quality of products, reduce scrap, and eliminate waste.
Assist in developing P.F.M.E.A. / F.M.E.A. / P.C.P / and P.F.D's. Improve overall part process, process flow, and process development. Update program documentation, and write reports, work instructions, and procedure manuals as required.
Update and maintain plant layout. Develop efficient manufacturing methods through labor utilization standards, machine capacity, facility utilization, and cost analysis. Prepare quotation(s) of all plant-related equipment and activities to give to estimators or program managers.
