Position


Principal / Vice Principal / Director โ€“ School of Nursing


We are seeking an experienced, visionary and academically accomplished Nursing Education Leader to provide strategic, academic and administrative leadership for the School of Nursing.


The ideal candidate should have strong experience in Nursing Education, Academic Administration, Faculty Leadership, Curriculum Implementation, Clinical Training, Regulatory Compliance, Student Development and Institutional Quality Systems.


This is a senior leadership position responsible for establishing the School of Nursing as a high-quality, professionally governed and outcome-driven centre for nursing education.

Key Responsibilities


1. Academic Leadership


Provide overall academic leadership for the School of Nursing.


Develop and implement academic plans aligned with institutional vision and nursing education standards.


Ensure effective curriculum delivery, lesson planning, academic scheduling and assessment systems.


Monitor teaching-learning quality and academic outcomes.


Establish a culture of continuous academic improvement.


Promote evidence-based teaching and modern nursing education practices.



2. Nursing Education & Clinical Training


Ensure strong integration between theoretical nursing education and clinical practice.


Develop structured clinical training and hospital exposure programmes.


Monitor clinical postings, clinical competencies and student performance.


Establish appropriate clinical supervision and mentoring systems.


Strengthen partnerships with hospitals and healthcare institutions.


Ensure students receive adequate exposure to contemporary healthcare practices.



3. Faculty Leadership & Development


Lead recruitment, selection, onboarding and deployment of nursing faculty.


Establish faculty performance standards and appraisal systems.


Identify faculty development needs and organise FDPs, workshops and training.


Mentor faculty members and develop future academic leaders.


Monitor faculty workload, attendance, academic performance and professional development.


Encourage faculty participation in research, publications, conferences and professional forums.



4. Regulatory & Statutory Compliance


Ensure compliance with applicable requirements of:


Indian Nursing Council / applicable national nursing regulatory framework


State Nursing Council


University / affiliating authority requirements


Government and statutory authorities


Applicable accreditation and quality standards



Maintain readiness for inspections, audits and regulatory visits.


Ensure accurate documentation and timely submission of statutory records.


Maintain all academic, faculty, infrastructure and clinical training documentation.



5. Institutional Administration


Provide strategic direction for the overall functioning of the School of Nursing.


Establish SOPs, policies, academic systems and administrative processes.


Coordinate with HR, Finance, Administration, Admissions, Marketing and other Group institutions.


Ensure effective utilisation of infrastructure, laboratories, classrooms and learning resources.


Monitor operational efficiency and institutional discipline.


Prepare and review periodic academic and administrative reports for Management.



6. Student Development & Welfare


Build a student-centric academic environment.


Monitor student attendance, academic performance, discipline and progression.


Strengthen mentoring, counselling and student support systems.


Promote professional ethics, communication skills, leadership and employability.


Ensure effective grievance redressal mechanisms.


Support student participation in community health, social service and professional activities.



7. Quality Assurance & Institutional Development


Establish measurable academic and institutional KPIs.


Monitor student outcomes, faculty performance and academic effectiveness.


Implement internal academic audits and quality reviews.


Develop systems for continuous improvement.


Maintain evidence-based documentation for institutional assessment and accreditation.


Introduce technology-enabled academic monitoring and reporting systems.



8. Research & Professional Development


Promote nursing research and evidence-based practice.


Encourage faculty and students to participate in research projects.


Develop research collaborations with hospitals, universities and healthcare organisations.


Encourage publications, conferences, seminars and professional presentations.


Build a culture of innovation within the School of Nursing.



9. Hospital & External Stakeholder Relationships


Develop and maintain strong relationships with reputed hospitals and healthcare organisations.


Build clinical training partnerships and internship opportunities.


Strengthen institutional relationships with professional nursing bodies.


Represent the institution in academic, professional and regulatory forums.


Develop external collaborations that enhance student learning and institutional reputation.



10. Institutional Growth & Strategic Leadership


Develop the School of Nursing into a centre of excellence in nursing education.


Identify opportunities for new programmes, specialisations and professional development initiatives.


Strengthen admissions, student experience and institutional visibility.


Develop long-term academic and operational growth plans.


Work closely with Management to achieve institutional objectives and strategic priorities.

Required Qualifications


Essential


M.Sc. Nursing recognised by the applicable nursing regulatory authority.


Valid registration as a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife (RN/RM) with the applicable State Nursing Council.


Strong academic and administrative experience in Nursing Education.



Desirable


Ph.D. in Nursing or equivalent doctoral qualification.


Additional qualifications in Education / Healthcare Administration / Management will be an advantage.


Experience in institutional quality assurance, accreditation and regulatory compliance.

Experience Requirement


Principal / Director Level


Minimum 15 years of total professional experience after M.Sc. Nursing.


At least 10 years of experience in Nursing Education / Teaching and Academic Administration after obtaining the postgraduate qualification.


Significant experience in academic leadership, preferably as:


Principal


Vice Principal


Director


Academic Head


HOD / Senior Nursing Faculty with substantial administrative responsibility.



Leadership Experience


Candidates should demonstrate experience in:
