Practice Nurse - General Practice - Registered Nurse & Enrolled Nurse

Casual | 2–3 Days per Week | Opportunity to Transition to Permanent Part-Time

Beach Road Medical Centre is a privately owned, AGPAL‑accredited, mixed billing General Practice committed to delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred healthcare to the Warwick community.

As our practice continues to grow, we are seeking an enthusiastic Registered Nurse (RN) or Enrolled Nurse (EN) to join our friendly and supportive team.

This role is offered on a casual basis, working approximately 2–3 days per week, with flexibility to meet the needs of the practice. There is a genuine opportunity for the successful applicant to transition to a permanent part‑time position as the practice continues to expand. Additional shifts may also be available to provide annual and personal leave cover.

About the Role

Working alongside our GPs and administration team, you will play an integral role in delivering high‑quality nursing care across a broad range of preventative, acute and chronic healthcare services.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Childhood, adult and travel immunisations.
  • Health Assessments and Chronic Disease Management.
  • GP Management Plans and Team Care Arrangements.
  • Wound care and dressings.
  • ECGs and other clinical procedures.
  • Assisting with minor surgical procedures.
  • Iron infusions and patient monitoring (where appropriately trained).
  • Driver and Commercial Medical Assessments.
  • Medication administration within scope of practice.
  • Patient education and preventative health promotion.
  • Recall and reminder management.
  • Infection prevention and control.
  • Vaccine cold chain management.
  • Sterilisation and treatment room management.
  • Clinical stock control and equipment maintenance.
  • Maintaining accurate clinical documentation using Best Practice software.
  • Working collaboratively with GPs, reception staff and allied health providers to ensure the smooth operation of the practice.
  • Assisting across the practice as required and contributing positively to our team culture.

Essential Requirements

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse.
  • Current CPR Certificate.
  • National Police Clearance or willingness to obtain one.
  • Accredited Nurse Immuniser qualification with authority to administer childhood immunisations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team.
  • Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient‑centred care.
  • Current immunisations in accordance with Australian healthcare requirements.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in General Practice or Primary Care.
  • Experience using Best Practice clinical software.
  • Ear syringing.
  • Iron infusion.
  • Cosmetic injecting experience.
  • Health Assessments, GP Management Plans, Team Care Arrangements and Chronic Disease Management.
  • Experience assisting with Driver and Commercial Medical Assessments.
  • Competency in peripheral intravenous cannulation.
  • Experience administering and monitoring iron infusions.
  • Accredited Yellow Fever Vaccination Provider.
  • Experience with travel vaccinations.
  • Knowledge of AGPAL/RACGP accreditation standards.
  • Participation in Quality Improvement activities.
