Job Description

GC Southport is seeking a skilled and dedicated Pool Technician to join our team on a full-time basis. This role is based in Southport, QLD 4215, and offers an exciting opportunity to work in the trades and services sector, specialising in pool maintenance and technical services. As a Pool Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our pool facilities operate safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

Your technical expertise and attention to detail will be essential to maintaining customer satisfaction and upholding our reputation for excellence.

Key responsibilities

  • Performing routine maintenance and inspections of pool equipment, including pumps, filters, heaters, and chlorination systems
  • Testing and balancing pool water chemistry to ensure safe and compliant water conditions
  • Diagnosing and repairing pool equipment faults and malfunctions in a timely manner
  • Cleaning and maintaining pool facilities, including brushing, skimming, and vacuuming
  • Monitoring water levels and equipment performance to identify potential issues before they escalte
  • Maintaining detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and pool chemical treatments
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and local pool regulations and standards
  • Communicating with customers regarding maintenance schedules, repairs, and any recommendations for pool care
  • Assisting with installation of new pool equipment and systems where required

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience as a Pool Technician or in a similar pool maintenance role
  • Knowledge of pool chemistry, water testing, and treatment procedures
  • Competency in operating and maintaining pool equipment and filtration systems
  • Sound understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to pool operations
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively across multiple tasks
  • Reliable, professional approach to customer service and communication
  • Physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks in varying weather conditions
  • Current driver's licence and willingness to travel to different locations as needed
  • Relevant qualifications or certifications in pool maintenance (preferred but not essential)
