Job Description
Our client, a leading professional services organisation, is seeking an experienced Azure DevOps Platform Engineer to support the ongoing development and enhancement of enterprise software delivery platforms. This is an initial 6-month daily rate contract operating on a hybrid basis with two days per week onsite.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and enhance platform engineering capabilities that enable development teams to efficiently build, test and deploy applications.
- Support the design, implementation and continuous improvement of CI/CD pipelines across multiple projects and environments.
- Collaborate closely with software engineers, QA teams and solution architects to optimise software delivery processes and platform reliability.
- Troubleshoot platform, deployment and pipeline issues to minimise disruption and improve operational performance.
- Promote DevOps best practices, automation and standardisation throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Assist project teams with application deployments across development, testing and production environments.
- Identify opportunities to improve developer experience by removing bottlenecks and streamlining delivery processes.
- Contribute to the ongoing evolution of cloud-based platform services and deployment tooling.
Experience Required
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in a Platform Engineering, DevOps or similar infrastructure engineering role.
- Hands-on experience supporting CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices.
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills across development and deployment environments.
- Experience working with version control systems and branching strategies.
- Exposure to cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure.
- Experience with automation and deployment tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins and PowerShell.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical mindset with a proactive approach to solving technical challenges.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code and configuration management practices.
- Familiarity with container technologies and cloud-native deployment methodologies.
- Understanding of Agile software delivery environments.
- Previous experience working within consulting or professional services environments.
- Exposure to Continuous Delivery and DevSecOps principles.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent third-level qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline.
- Day Rate Contract
- 2 days on site per week
