Philosophy Teacher – Northampton

We are seeking a passionate Philosophy Teacher to join a well‑regarded secondary school in Northampton from September 2026. The position is full‑time, with permanent employment preferred, though fixed‑term and long‑term supply arrangements will also be considered. Salary is competitive and depends on experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach Philosophy across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5 for the right candidate.
• Plan and deliver engaging, thought‑provoking lessons that encourage discussion, debate, and critical thinking.
• Create a respectful and inclusive classroom where students feel confident expressing, evaluating, and challenging ideas appropriately.
• Support students of all abilities to achieve their academic potential.
• Collaborate with colleagues within the Humanities department to share resources and best practice.
• Promote enquiry into philosophical concepts, ethics, logic, and contemporary issues through an engaging and stimulating curriculum.

Qualifications

• Hold QTS/QTLS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Have strong subject knowledge and genuine enthusiasm for Philosophy.
• Be confident managing behaviour and creating a positive learning environment.
• Be committed to delivering high‑quality, inclusive teaching that inspires all learners.
• Suitable for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs).
