Pastry Cook 

General Description: 

Portion, prepare, bake, and plate food products to provide exceptional experience to guests, while maintaining a clean and organized work environment. 

 

Specific Tasks: 

  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.  
  • Follow food safety procedures and protocols, including but not limited to proper food preparation temperatures, FIFO practices, personal hygiene, product labeling, and safe food storage. 
  • Follow recipes and instructions provided by the Pastry Sous Chef and/or Pastry Chef.  
  • Create an appropriate production prep list and ensure the preparation of adequate levels of mise en place.  
  • Prioritize prep tasks and demonstrate effective time management. 
  • Portion, plate, and garnish food according to restaurant standards. 
  • Work collaboratively with all restaurant team members including BOH and FOH staff. 
  • Produce consistent, high-quality food items that meet the restaurant's standards. 
  • Maintain clear communication with team members and management. 
  • Handle guest allergies with the utmost care and adhere to established restaurant allergy protocols. 
  • Attend all scheduled shifts and meetings on time. 

 

Physical Requirements 

 

  • Lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. 
  • Safely and effectively use all required tools, equipment, and cleaning products. 
  • Stand and walk for the duration of a shift, including moving safely through all areas of the restaurant, which may include stairs, uneven and slick surfaces. 
  • Ability to work in both hot and cold environments.
