Optical Network Engineer

Job Summary We are looking for an experienced Optical & Network Engineer with strong expertise in DWDM/CWDM technologies, fiber optics, and carrier‑grade networking platforms. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience in optical transport systems, OTDR testing, and IP networking, and will work closely with carriers to troubleshoot and resolve fiber and network issues. Key Responsibilities Design, configure, and troubleshoot DWDM/CWDM optical transport networks Work with optical amplifiers, multiplexers, transponders, and fiber‑optic infrastructure Perform OTDR testing to analyze span loss, fiber bends, and dark fiber degradation Coordinate with telecom carriers to identify and remediate dark fiber issues Configure and support carrier‑grade optical platforms Support IP routing and Ethernet-based data center fabrics Required Technical Skills Strong understanding of: DWDM / CWDM technologies Optical transport systems Fiber‑optic principles and infrastructure Hands‑on experience with: OTDR testing and fiber analysis Carrier‑grade optical platforms such as: Adva FSP3000R7 Ciena 6500 Desired Skills Ethernet & Switching STP 802.1Q VPC Multilayer Switching Leaf–Spine IP Fabric Routing & Networking RIP OSPF BGP / MP-BGP TCP/IP Platform Experience Cisco Switching & Routing platforms Arista Switching platforms Candidate Profile Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills Hands‑on, operations-focused mindset Experience working in carrier or large-scale enterprise environments Ability to collaborate with internal teams and external carriers
