Optical Engineer

Base pay range CA$45.00/hr - CA$60.00/hr Optical Transceiver Engineer Overview We’re looking for an engineer with expertise in optical transceivers to support development and lifecycle activities for pluggable optics used in advanced networking platforms.

This role combines hands‑on lab work, supplier interaction, and cross‑functional collaboration to deliver cutting‑edge optical solutions. Key Responsibilities Evaluate and qualify pluggable optics modules in the lab (optical/electrical performance testing). Create and maintain technical specifications aligned with industry standards.

Collaborate with internal teams (hardware, software, FPGA, product verification) during integration and testing. Work with suppliers to introduce new modules and resolve technical issues. Support product lifecycle activities, including design changes, field failure investigations, and technical sales support.

Required Skills Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or Physics. Experience with optical and electrical test methods and equipment. Hands‑on experience with optical transceiver hardware and lab testing.

Preferred Skills Knowledge of fiber optic communications. Familiarity with software tools like MATLAB for simulation and test automation. Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.

Compensation CA$45.00/hr to CA$60.00/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
