The Role VeryConnect is seeking an organised and high‑trust Operations professional to act as the central pillar of our team. In this role, you will focus on ensuring our internal "engine" runs smoothly by overseeing HR operations, financial administration and general business administration. Your main responsibilities will include but not be limited to: People & HR: Lead the employee lifecycle from onboarding to offboarding, including contract changes, internal policies, and visa sponsorship processes.
You will provide line management for a small team and support other managers in guiding company values. Recruitment: Lead end‑to‑end recruitment by drafting job specs, screening candidates, and managing the offer and negotiation process. Systems & Security: Act as the primary administrator for key internal tools, ensuring day‑to‑day stability, promoting security best practices, and monitoring data alerts.
Business Operations: Support the CEO with ad‑hoc tasks, external funding applications, manage office‑related matters (rates, insurance), and coordinate various third‑party services. Financial Administration: Manage day to day reconciliations, customer invoices and expenses. Facilitate the flow of information to our external accountants.
This includes approving payroll, acting as the primary point of contact for VAT and year‑end filings. About You You have experience in a startup environment and are comfortable operating with multiple teams across the business. You express confidence in delegating while working closely in the day to day where required.
We want to hear from you if you: Have a background in HR or business operations, within a fast‑paced B2B or SaaS environment. Possess a meticulous eye for detail, whether you are reviewing a customer invoice or drafting a new employment contract. Demonstrate strong leadership skills with experience in line management and the ability to unblock and support team members.
Are tech‑savvy and comfortable managing administrative backends for tools like Google Admin and Xero. Communicate with clarity and empathy, acting as a trusted point of contact for sensitive matters. The Logistics Working pattern: Full or part time options across: Monday to Friday. Contract: 12 month fixed‑term position (Maternity Cover) with a strong possibility of extension or permanent transition. Working location: Glasgow - preference 3 days in the office with options for other hybrid arrangements.
