Celtic Careers are working with a well-established international manufacturing business supplying highly specialised products and solutions to demanding industrial markets worldwide.

Our client based in Dublin 24 is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of their Irish business. This is a broad operational leadership role, managing a team across Manufacturing, Logistics, Accounts, Quality and Production Planning, while working closely with the senior leadership team internationally.

The Role

As Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the business, supporting the team and maintaining high standards across production, logistics, quality and customer service.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and supporting a team of approximately 13 employees across multiple functions.
  • Overseeing day-to-day manufacturing and operational activities.
  • Working closely with Production Planning to ensure schedules and customer requirements are met.
  • Managing logistics and resolving issues around deliveries and shipments.
  • Working with Accounts on budgets, costs and financial matters.
  • Overseeing monthly stock/cycle counts and maintaining inventory accuracy.
  • Supporting internal and external quality, H&S and compliance audits.
  • Managing customer queries and complaints relating to late shipments, damaged goods and service issues.
  • Working closely with international teams across Europe and Asia.
  • Using SAP to support operational processes and reporting.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes, efficiency and ways of working.
  • Maintaining awareness of emerging technologies, including potential AI solutions within the business.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives, with Lean experience advantageous.
  • Occasional international travel to China and Turkey, expected to be approximately 2โ€“3 trips per year.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an experienced operations professional with a strong background in manufacturing and distribution. Candidates from Food, Medical, Pharmaceutical, FMCG or other regulated manufacturing environments would be particularly relevant.

You will ideally have:

  • Proven experience in an Operations / Operations Management position.
  • Strong people management and leadership experience.
  • Experience across manufacturing, logistics and/or distribution.
  • Good understanding of production planning and operational processes.
  • Experience working with quality, compliance and H&S requirements.
  • Strong commercial and budget awareness.
  • Experience dealing with customer queries and operational issues.
  • SAP experience would be beneficial.
  • Lean / continuous improvement experience would be advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with international teams.
  • A practical, hands-on approach with the ability to take ownership and make decisions.
