Join Our Team – Open Call - Looking for Cashiers & Baristas
Date: Tuesday, September 8th
Time: 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM
Location: 365 Canal St, 5th Floor, New York, NY 10013
We are currently hiring Cashiers and Baristas for Happier Grocery, and we’re excited to invite you to our upcoming Open Call.
We are looking for passionate, professional, and hospitality-driven individuals.

Location: Interviews will be held in our offices above the grocery store - NOT inside the store.
When you arrive, the code for the front door is 2727#. Head straight up to the 5th Floor.

CASHIER
Responsibilities:
- Welcome every customer with a positive and approachable attitude
- Efficiently and accurately process purchases using our POS system
- Handle cash, credit, and contactless payments with precision
- Maintain a tidy, well-stocked, and organized checkout area
- Answer questions about products and guide customers to store locations when needed
- Follow all store policies regarding returns, exchanges, and transactions
- Assist with stocking impulse items and small displays near checkout
- Help with light restocking and organizing of high-traffic areas when appropriate
- Report inventory or guest concerns to store leadership
- Adhere to all safety, sanitation, and health protocols
- Be flexible and willing to assist wherever needed including helping fulfill E-Commerce Orders
Requirements:
- Friendly, calm, and confident in fast-paced environments
- Previous cashier or customer-facing experience preferred
- Ability to multitask and stay organized
- Enthusiastic about wellness, food, and helping people
- Open availability include evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Must be 18 years of age or older
BARISTA
Responsibilities:
- Prepare coffee, tea and espresso-based drinks
- Talk guests through add-ons
- Work quickly and efficiently to take orders and payments on the POS
- Engage with and talk to guests in a friendly manner
- Prepare tonics from recipes and properly present them customers
- Keep a completely clean back bar and work area
- Take daily inventory and stock the bar with beverage and operational supplies
- Comply with health and safety regulations
- Communicate customer feedback to managers and recommend new menu items
Requirements:
- 1+ year barista experience on an espresso machine preferred
- Knowledgeable and enthusiastic about coffee, tea, and drink preparation
- Outstanding communication and guest service skills
- Good problem-solving techniques and ability to do so with pace, empathy, and sometimes under pressure
- Ability to multitask and stay organized
- Enthusiastic about wellness, food, and helping people
- Open availability include evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Must be 18 years of age or older
