Job Description
Nursery Nurse Position – Wavertree Location: Wavertree, L15 Role: Nursery Nurse Contract Type: Full-Time Start Date: April 2026 A well-established and highly regarded nursery in Wavertree is seeking to appoint a Nursery Nurse from April 2026. The nursery provides exceptional early years education and care for children aged 1 to 4, offering a warm, inclusive, and nurturing environment designed to support each child’s growth and development. Role Overview As a Nursery Nurse, you will play an essential role in creating a safe, stimulating, and engaging setting for the children.
Working closely with our dedicated team, you will support learning, encourage social interaction, and promote the overall well-being of each child. Your creativity, enthusiasm, and commitment to child development will help ensure a positive experience for both children and their families. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities that support children’s physical, social, and cognitive development.
Provide personalised care to meet the individual needs of each child. Foster a warm, welcoming environment that encourages positive relationships between children, staff, and parents. Observe, monitor, and record children’s behaviour, progress, and development.
Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organised classroom in line with health and safety standards. Work collaboratively with colleagues to design and implement curriculum plans. Communicate effectively with parents, keeping them informed about their child’s activities, progress, and any concerns.
Requirements NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or an equivalent qualification. Previous experience within a nursery or early years education setting. Sound understanding of early childhood development and best practice.
Strong written and verbal communication skills. A caring, patient, and nurturing nature, with a genuine passion for working with children. Ability to work well as part of a team.
