Description Under the supervision of an anesthesiologist, perform safe anesthesia care, consisting of the following: preāoperative assessment, writing of appropriate preāop orders as specified by approved standard procedure, administration of all types of anesthetic and techniques, patient monitoring intraāoperatively, providing for a safe intraāop course and emergence, and assisting as necessary in postāoperative care. You may be assigned to an 8, 10, or 12āhour shift, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Work will be assigned to various ORs.
Salary range: $153.23 hourly Qualifications Valid California RN and CRNA license required Graduated from an accredited Masterās or DNP program in Nurse Anesthesia required Current certification/reācertification by the National Board of Certification & Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists required BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA or ARC required Required: Ability to perform thorough pre, intraāoperative, and postāoperative assessments and formulate a safe anesthesia care plan. Required: Skill in performing preāoperative assessment of surgical and nonāsurgical patients, including: Identification of preāexisting disease entities and their potential impact upon anesthesia care and plan documentation of past medical history, physical examination, laboratory tests, ECG, and chest Xāray Understanding interactions of preāoperative drug therapy with the proposed anesthetic plan and agents for all age groups Identification of abnormalities on physical examination that pose potential problems in anesthesia management Understanding the medical indications for the delay of elective surgery and for preāoperative specialty consultation Required: Ability to explain the proposed anesthetic technique, alternatives, risks, and problems, thus obtaining proper documented legal informed consent prior to the administration of anesthesia. Required: Ability to properly and completely document significant information to form an anesthesia record of preāoperative, intraāoperative, and postāoperative events.
Required: Skill in determining safe airway management and interpretation of physiological monitoring. Ability to interpret physiological data (ECG, BP, vital signs, PCWP, SVR) and adjust interventions to optimize patient safety in all age groups. Required: Ability to safely insert venous and arterial monitoring lines and devices under the medical direction of an anesthesiologist.
Required: Knowledge of pharmacology, dosage, side effects, and contraindications of all drugs currently employed in anesthesia practice at UCLA. Required: Skill in performing all techniques of MAC, regional, and general anesthesia commonly employed at UCLA for all age categories. Required: Ability to recognize return of consciousness and reflexes signaling safe emergence from anesthesia, transport the patient to the recovery room, and provide an informed report to qualified medical personnel who will assume care of the patient.
Required: Knowledge of current clinical and theoretical education and research techniques as evidenced by experience, academic credentials, and license. #J-18808-Ljbffr
