NPD Engineer (Rubber & Engineering Plastics)

Location: Chennai Experience: 3–5 Years Department: New Product Development / Manufacturing Role Description Lead the development of new rubber and engineering plastic parts You’ll work on product feasibility, process optimization and cost-effective solutions while ensuring quality and customer satisfaction. What You’ll Do Conduct product & process feasibility studies for new parts. Execute trials, document results and ensure Right First Time (RFT) .

Coordinate with customers through development to approval stages. Improve processes to reduce lead time and enhance yield. Prepare molds, gauges, fixtures and maintain master samples.

Prepare Costing for New Products & Tool Development Ensure documentation compliance (APQP, PPAP, ERP entries, Control Plans). Drive quality improvements, cost optimization, and schedule adherence. Maintain safety and 5S standards in all NPD activities.

What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s in Mechanical. Minimum 3 years of NPD experience in Rubber & Engineering Plastics. Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, Control Plans , and IATF 16949.

Knowledge in 2D, 3D software. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
