Job Description
Resource Requirements: Senior Resource Must possess an F5 level 302 Certification. Mid-Level Resource Must possess an F5 level 201 Certification. Communication: To effectively support operations, resources must demonstrate advanced US English proficiency.
This includes strong written skills and highly intelligible verbal communication to ensure ease of understanding across the organization. Clear, easily understood spoken communication is necessary to ensure seamless integration with team during daily meetings, phone calls, and live troubleshooting. Scope of Services F5 Administration and Support Backups: Verify boxes are backing up.
Download backups from hypervisors and non-vCMP guests. Verify F5 hardware health: Check AKIPS logs, CPU, memory, connections, etc. Arista CVAAS: (CloudVision as-a-Service) LTM/AFM/APM: Create VIPs/pools, AFM firewall rules, APM policies, iRules, as project or ticket-based requests.
Firewall work as required (Fortinet). VLAN work required. Certificate renewals and geolocation updates.
DNS and DHCP configuration. Troubleshoot problems with LTM/AFM/APM. View firewall logs, AFM, or firewalls.
Verify VLANs are trunked correctly. Verify ARP tables, firewall, and routers. Code upgrades: Be available to work code upgrades.
F5 Projects or other related tasks: Update AFM firewalls by cleaning up any non-used lines of config post configuring new default approved firewall template. Move anything test off prod F5 to test F5. Complete moving 172 addresses off DMZF5 to 164 address space.
Move last remaining VLANs off ASA F5 context to AFM firewall. Lock down internal F5 management IP addresses like DMZ. Enable OCSP (Online Certificate Status Protocol).
Sweet32 certificate/cipher management. APM response headers from F5 to client pre-server HTTP response headers. Other F5 projects or related tasks as assigned.
Network Engineer Activities and Support Create and maintain documentation related to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records. Respond to emergency network outages following business continuity and disaster recovery plans. Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the networking industry.
Oversee new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades. Configure networks to ensure smooth and reliable operation for fulfilling business objectives and processes. Monitor network performance and troubleshoot problem areas as needed.
Receive and respond to incoming calls, notifications, automated alerts, and emails regarding network connectivity problems. Open and track SP (Service Provider) tickets. Ensure network connectivity of all servers, workstations, telephony equipment, and other network appliances.
Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information. Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports. Participate in managing all network security solutions.
Manage and guide junior members of the team. Provide general network support, acting as first point of contact. Other tasks as assigned.
