Insight Global is looking for an EDA Network Administrator that will be working on site in Austin, TX and support a public-private partnership of preeminent semiconductor systems and defense electronics companies, national labs, and academic institutions. Their mission is to advance the state-of-the-art in critical semiconductor domains such as advanced packaging, and in the process to help restore U.S. leadership in semiconductor manufacturing. They are developing cutting-edge semiconductor manufacturing equipment and processes that will define future roadmaps of semiconductor logic, memory, heterogenous integration, chip cooling, etc.
They are Backed by $1.4 billion in combined funding from DARPA, Texas state initiatives, and strategic partners, they are building foundational capabilities in advanced packaging and integrated design infrastructure to restore U.S. leadership in microelectronics manufacturing. *Candidates must be able to work on our client's W2 without sponsorship now and in the future* Responsibilities: Network Infrastructure & Operations: Design, implement, and maintain LAN/WAN/WLAN infrastructure across on-prem and cloud-connected environments. Monitor and troubleshoot network performance, latency, and reliability issues impacting EDA compute clusters and engineering teams. Support high-throughput, low-latency networks for EDA applications, simulations, and large data transfers.
Manage network hardware including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and VPN appliances. Cloud & AWS Networking: Configure and manage AWS networking services, including: VPCs, subnets, route tables, security groups, NACLs Site-to-site VPNs, Client VPN, Direct Connect (preferred) Transit Gateways and hybrid connectivity Collaborate with cloud and DevOps teams to support EDA workloads running in AWS (burst compute, storage access, license servers). Ensure secure, scalable connectivity between on-prem data centers and AWS environments.
Security & Compliance: Implement and maintain network security best practices, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and zero-trust principles. Apply security controls to protect intellectual property and design data. Support audits, compliance initiatives, and vulnerability remediation related to network infrastructure.
EDA & Engineering Environment Support: Support network requirements for EDA tools (e.g., licensing servers, compute farms, HPC clusters, NFS storage). Work with engineering teams to troubleshoot connectivity issues affecting design workflows and compute jobs. Optimize network configurations for large file transfers, parallel workloads, and distributed compute environments.
Documentation & Collaboration: Create and maintain network diagrams, runbooks, SOPs, and configuration documentation. Collaborate cross-functionally with IT, Cloud, DevOps, Security, and Engineering teams. Participate in on-call rotations and provide tier-2/tier-3 network support as needed.
Desired Traits: 4+ years of experience as a Network Administrator or Network Engineer Experience working with EDA vendors/tools in semiconductor industry Strong knowledge of: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, NAT Enterprise routing and switching (Cisco, Juniper, Arista, or similar) Hands-on experience with AWS networking Experience supporting Linux-based environments Familiarity with VPN technologies and firewall platforms Experience troubleshooting complex network issues in high-availability environments Nice to Have Skills & Experience Experience with advanced packaging or working in a foundry Compensation: $100000 to $120,000 per year annual salary. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
