Edmonton Catholic Schools is seeking a Nehiyaw Pimatisiwin Cree Language and Culture Teacher for the 2026/2027 academic year. Enhance student understanding through cultural engagement.

As a teacher in this program, you will work with over 800 students and offer vital lessons in Cree culture and language at six locations. Your role will include collaborating with a Cree Language Consultant to provide effective teaching methods focused on Indigenous learners and fostering connections with the community and Elders. This ensures a culturally relevant education that meets students' needs.

Key Responsibilities: • Teach Cree language and culture to students • Collaborate with an Indigenous consultant on curriculum • Build strong ties with Indigenous families and communities • Implement Indigenous perspectives into educational content • Support Indigenous learners in their education

Requirements: • Holder of a Bachelor of Education Degree • Possess a valid Alberta Teaching Certificate • Essential knowledge of Cree language and culture • Submission of recent teaching evaluations • Two professional references less than two years old
