We’re partnering with Electec Engineering Inc. to find a talented Mechanical Engineer to join their expanding team in Bedford, Nova Scotia. This is an exceptional opportunity for an Engineer who is ready to take on a key role in the design and management of diverse mechanical systems. The successful candidate will play an integral role in the company’s expanding mechanical division, contributing to the design and management of a diverse range of projects while building lasting relationships within the design and construction community.
Key Responsibilities: What You’ll Be Designing & Managing Design & Analysis: Manage plumbing and HVAC project designs from concept through to completion Complete detailed heating and cooling load calculations in coordination with architectural designs and other consultants Design and specify mechanical systems in alignment with project requirements Apply and interpret relevant codes, standards, and guidelines, including the Canadian Building and Plumbing Codes, NFPA, ASHRAE, and the Canadian National Energy Code Project Coordination & Quality: Provide design direction and coordination for the drafting of mechanical systems Coordinate with contractors, equipment suppliers, and consultants to ensure projects meet schedule, budget, and quality standards Review and approve mechanical/plumbing contractor submittals Attend design meetings, conduct site reviews, and prepare reports throughout all project phases What We Are Looking For As the ideal candidate, you have a degree in Mechanical Engineering and experience or strong exposure to HVAC and plumbing system design for buildings. You have a solid understanding of standard engineering methods and are comfortable applying relevant codes and standards in your work. You are proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite and have experience with AutoCAD, with additional design software considered an asset.
