Job Opportunity - Mechanical Engineer Location: Sunnyvale, CA Duration : Full time Overview: We are seeking a mechanical engineer contractor to support the design, build, validation, and scaling of structural mounting systems for autonomy compute, networking, and sensor hardware across diverse vehicle platforms. This role works closely with the electrical harness team to ensure fully integrated system solutions. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop mechanical mounting solutions for autonomy hardware Create and maintain 3D CAD models and engineering drawings Support first-article builds, prototyping, and fitment validation Perform structural analysis and ensure durability under vehicle conditions Collaborate with electrical and systems teams for integrated packaging solutions Drive design iterations from prototype through production readiness Support validation testing and design verification activities Required Qualifications: 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in automotive or robotics Strong proficiency in CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE (V6) Experience with structural design, mounting systems, and vibration considerations Hands-on experience with prototyping and hardware validation Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment Preferred Qualifications: Experience with autonomy, robotics, or sensor integration systems Familiarity with manufacturing processes and DFM principles Experience scaling designs from prototype to production
