About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team.

The successful candidates must work well independently and in a team, be reliable and take responsibility and pride in their work.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Studying the design and functions of machinery, plant and equipment and developing standard operating procedures for the production team
  • Assembling and setting up new machinery, plant, and equipment
  • Providing training to staff to assist with the implementation of the SOPs
  • Establishing standards and policies for installation of machines, and maintenance according to engineering principles and safety regulations
  • Studying and interpreting specifications, plans and drawings to determine project requirements
  • Analysing operational data, production schedules and costs to identify area of improvements in the manufacturing process
  • Designing and modifying machinery, plant and equipment as required to meet project requirements and optimise efficienciesand use of resources while ensuring operational safety
  • Developing and testing machinery or its components
  • Drafting, designing, and modifying prefab cages and prefab column using AutoCAD and SolidWorks
  • Designing columns as per customer’s requirements, standard and specifications on SolidWorks and performing stress analyses on them to verify their design to meet Australian Standards
  • Drafting and modifying drawings of different parts to be used in the construction industry such as casting plates, stitch plates, edge protection ports and formwork accessories using SolidWorks
  • Customising machinery in accordance with user requirements
  • Coordinating and developing CAD models for ease of warehouse workers
  • Liaising and collaborating with the production team on different tasks and projects to meet the customer deadlines
  • Creating maintenance schedule based on machine requirements and oversees maintenance of machinery, plant, and equipment

Skills and experience

To be successful for this role, you will have the following skills/experience:

  • Have a bachelor degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering
  • At least 3 years’ experience working as a Mechanical Engineer or in a similar role
  • Experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks
  • Ability to prioritise tasks to ensure on time deliveryCompliance with specifications and project requirements
  • Experience in metal fabrication machineries and technologies will be highly regarded
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills
  • Be self-motivated with a positive attitude
  • Able to work under pressure
  • A critical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills
