Holidays:       26 days per annum plus bank holidays increasing with service

Hours:           40 hours per week - This is a site-based role, and travel between sites will be required.

Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operation of mechanical and electrical installation projects, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This role combines site management, health & safety, quality assurance, client liaison, planning, and project engineering responsibilities across water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

Working closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Designers, Clients, and Subcontractors, you will play a key role in delivering projects safely, on programme, within budget, and in accordance with company procedures and client specifications.

The ideal candidate will be highly organised, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities within a fast-paced construction environment.


Key Responsibilities


  • Manage the day-to-day delivery of mechanical and electrical installation projects on site.
  • Ensure all works are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company procedures and client specifications.
  • Coordinate site activities, labour, subcontractors, plant, materials, and project documentation.
  • Maintain high standards of health, safety, environmental compliance, and quality throughout project delivery.
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal departments to ensure projects are delivered on programme and within budget.
  • Prepare and maintain key project documentation, including RAMS, permits, inspections, quality records, and progress reports.
  • Support Project Managers with planning, programme updates, client meetings, and project handover activities.
  • Promote a positive safety culture and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and company standards.


Essential Requirements


  • Previous experience as a Site Manager, Project Engineer, or similar role within the Mechanical & Electrical, Utilities, or Civil Engineering sectors.
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation, safe systems of work and CDM Regs
  • Experience managing subcontractors, site activities, and project documentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Willingness to travel and work across multiple project locations.


Desirable Requirements


·       Experience working within the Water or Wastewater industry.

·       SMSTS and CSCS Manager Card.

·       First Aid at Work qualification.

·       EUSR Water Hygiene card - beneficial but not required. We can offer training.

·       IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH qualification - beneficial but not required. We can offer training.

·       Experience working under NEC contracts.

·       Knowledge of quality management systems, RAMS, permits to work, and Inspection & Test Plans.
