Mathematics Teacher (International Curriculuml)

Job Role: Mathematics Teacher (Senior School) (Cambridge & IB)

Location: Sector 70A, Gurgaon

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning

• Plan and deliver high-quality Mathematics lessons aligned with Cambridge and IB curriculum frameworks.
• Develop students' conceptual understanding, mathematical reasoning, problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Use inquiry-based, student-centred and differentiated teaching approaches.
• Design engaging lessons that connect Mathematics to real-world applications and interdisciplinary contexts.
• Effectively use technology and digital tools to enhance Mathematics learning.
• Cater to varied learning abilities and provide appropriate academic support and extension opportunities.
• Encourage students to take ownership of their learning and develop independent learning skills.

Assessment & Academic Progress

• Design and conduct formative and summative assessments aligned with Cambridge and IB requirements.
• Analyse student performance and use assessment data to identify learning gaps and areas for improvement.
• Provide timely and constructive feedback to students.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and achievement.
• Prepare students for Cambridge IGCSE/A Level and/or relevant IB assessments and examinations.
• Support students in developing examination strategies and mathematical communication skills.

Student Development

• Build positive and respectful relationships with students.
• Mentor students and support their academic and personal development.
• Identify students requiring additional support and work collaboratively with the relevant academic and pastoral teams.
• Promote curiosity, resilience, collaboration and confidence in Mathematics.

Curriculum Development

• Contribute to curriculum planning, review and development within the Mathematics department.
• Develop schemes of work, lesson plans, learning resources and assessment materials.
• Participate in interdisciplinary and cross-curricular learning initiatives.
• Contribute to the development of Mathematics resources and best practices across the school.

Collaboration & Professional Development

• Collaborate effectively with colleagues within the Mathematics department and across other subject areas.
• Participate in departmental meetings, moderation, professional learning communities and school-wide initiatives.
• Engage actively in professional development related to Cambridge and IB pedagogy.
• Share effective teaching practices and contribute to a culture of continuous professional learning.

Parent & School Engagement

• Communicate regularly and professionally with parents regarding student progress and development.
• Participate in parent meetings, school events, workshops and academic initiatives.
• Contribute to the wider life and culture of the school.

Education

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or a relevant subject.
• B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification preferred.

Experience

• Minimum 5–8 years of teaching experience, preferably in a Cambridge and/or IB school.
• Experience teaching Mathematics at the Senior School level.
• Strong understanding of Cambridge IGCSE/A Level and/or IB Mathematics curriculum and assessment requirements.
• Experience in international school environments will be an advantage.
