We build reliable, precise, and accessible systems for working with spatial data, and our research spans analytics, process automation, and machine learning. Marketing & Communications Assistant (Undergraduate)


2-3days/week


We're teaching you what we know, give you room to experiment, and expect you to bring ideas of your own.The role is paid hourly (casual), 2-3 days a week, and ongoing - and we'll flex around your timetable and exam periods.


responsibilities



  • Social media. Plan, write, and publish posts across our channels, grow our audience, and track what's actually working

  • Blog and content. Research and write blog posts, case studies, and product explainers that turn technical work into stories people want to read

  • Founder content. Help our founders show up well online - drafting posts, shaping talking points, and turning their conversations and ideas into content

  • Paid ad campaigns. Set up and run campaigns across platforms like Google, LinkedIn, and Reddit, watch the numbers, and report on what the spend is achieving

  • Brand. Keep our look, voice, and messaging consistent everywhere - from social templates to pitch decks - and help evolve the brand as we grow


requirements



  • Who you areA current undergraduate in marketing, communications, journalism, or business - or a technically minded student (IT, science, engineering, geospatial) who loves to write

  • A strong, fast writer who can shift tone across formats - social captions, blog posts, ad copy

  • Comfortable with design tools like Canva (Figma or Adobe is a bonus) and keen to learn ad platforms

  • Organised and self-starting - you can juggle a content calendar, a campaign, and a deadline without being chased

  • Already using AI tools in your own work to do more with less

  • Curious about startups and technology, and comfortable when priorities shift

  • Nice to haveYou’ve run social media for a club, society, small business, or a project of your ownHands-on exposure to Meta Ads, Google Ads, or LinkedIn Campaign ManagerBasic video editing skills (CapCut, Premiere, or similar)An interest in maps, data, or geospatial technologyA dual degree or coursework that mixes communications with tech, data, or science.You must have the right to work in Australia.
