About the Role
The Company is seeking a Managing Director for its Cleantech Accelerator program. The successful candidate will be at the forefront of supporting early-stage cleantech startups in the areas of energy, food and land use, transportation, carbon, industry, and the built environment. This role is pivotal in recruiting, selecting, and investing in the most promising startups, with a strong focus on building relationships with ecosystem partners to enhance the support system for the portfolio.
The Managing Director will be responsible for running a 12-week program that includes a significant financial investment in the selected startups and will also oversee a multi-week intensive residency program for cleantech researchers and entrepreneurs. Applicants for the Managing Director position should possess an entrepreneurial spirit, with experience as a founder, employee in a venture-backed company, or in venture capital. A collaborative, team-based mindset is essential, as the role involves close work with other Managing Directors, founders, and external partners.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to work in a fast-paced, independent environment, and be willing to travel and work flexible hours. Strong interpersonal, relationship-building, and communication skills are required, along with a commitment to equity across race, place, and gender. The role demands a proactive, hands-on approach, and a dedication to the values of the organization, including a focus on helping entrepreneurs and a belief in the potential of every community.
