Job Description

Role Boundary (Experience in US Healthcare Domain is Mandatory)

This role owns all post-billing Accounts Receivable and Revenue Cycle activities.

Billing and claim submission remain the responsibility of Billing Specialist.

This role assumes ownership immediately after billing has been completed and is accountable for the complete post-billing revenue cycle through to cash collection, revenue reconciliation and reporting.


Key Responsibilities

1. Accounts Receivable Leadership

Lead and manage the complete post-billing Accounts Receivable function across all healthcare services. Key responsibilities include:

  • Own end-to-end Accounts Receivable performance across all product lines.
  • Drive timely collection of outstanding receivables.
  • Improve cash collections and cash flow.
  • Reduce aged Accounts Receivable.
  • Improve Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).
  • Develop collection priorities and recovery strategies.
  • Escalate high-risk overdue accounts where appropriate.
  • Ensure accurate reconciliation between billed revenue and cash collections.
  • Maintain complete visibility of outstanding receivables and collection performance.
  • Identify collection risks and recommend corrective actions.


2. Provider Collections & Customer Relationship Management

Take ownership of collection activities directly with US healthcare customers including:

  • Physician Groups
  • Clinics
  • Hospitals
  • Practice Administrators
  • Finance Departments


Responsibilities include:

  • Proactive follow-up of outstanding invoices.
  • Collection negotiations.
  • Payment dispute resolution.
  • Escalation management.
  • Building strong customer relationships.
  • Securing payment commitments.
  • Supporting customer retention through professional financial management.

3. Revenue Cycle Operations

Lead operational activities supporting the post-billing Revenue Cycle including:

  • Insurance follow-up.
  • Denial management.
  • Appeals coordination.
  • Payment posting oversight.
  • Revenue reconciliation.
  • Collection reporting.
  • Revenue leakage identification.
  • Process improvement initiatives.

Partner closely with the Billing Specialist to ensure a seamless transition from billing through to successful cash collection.

4. Revenue Analytics & Executive Reporting

Develop meaningful reporting that provides management with complete visibility of Revenue Cycle performance. Prepare regular reports covering:

  • Days Sales Outstanding (DSO)
  • Accounts Receivable Ageing
  • Collection Effectiveness
  • Cash Collections
  • Revenue Recovery
  • Denial Trends
  • High-Risk Accounts
  • Collection Forecasts

Analyse trends and recommend initiatives that improve working capital and financial performance.


5. Continuous Improvement

Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the Revenue Cycle by:

  • Improving collection efficiency.
  • Reducing revenue leakage.
  • Strengthening collection processes.
  • Developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Identifying automation opportunities.
  • Implementing operational controls.
  • Improving reporting capability.
  • Establishing KPI-driven performance management.


6. Leadership & Team Development

Establish and build a high-performing Accounts Receivable function.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing KPIs.
  • Coaching and mentoring future team members.
  • Establishing best practice collection methodologies.
  • Supporting future recruitment.
  • Building scalable AR processes.
  • Promoting accountability, ownership and continuous improvement.


7. Cross Functional Collaboration

Work collaboratively across the organization to improve Revenue Cycle performance.

Partner closely with:

  • Billing
  • Clinical Operations
  • Product Team
  • Executive Leadership
  • External Financial Provider


Support initiatives that strengthen cash flow, improve operational efficiency and enhance financial discipline.


Success Measures (First 12 Months)

Success in this role will be measured through demonstrated improvements in:

  • Reduction in aged Accounts Receivable.
  • Improvement in Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).
  • Increased collection effectiveness.
  • Improved cash flow.
  • Reduction in revenue leakage.
  • Accurate reconciliation of billed revenue to cash collections.
  • Development of meaningful AR KPI dashboards.
  • Establishment of scalable Accounts Receivable processes.
  • Strong collaboration across Billing, Clinical Operations and Finance.
  • Readiness to expand into broader Financial Operations responsibilities.


Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Bachelor's Degree ideally in Accounting, Finance, Business or relevant discipline.
  • 6โ€“10 years' experience in US Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management.
  • Demonstrated experience managing US Healthcare Accounts Receivable.
  • Strong experience managing provider collections.
  • Experience dealing directly with physician groups, clinics and hospitals.
  • Strong knowledge of Revenue Cycle Management (RCM).
  • Proven success improving DSO and reducing aged receivables.
  • Experience preparing AR reports and executive dashboards.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets capability.
  • Experience working remotely with US-based customers and stakeholders.


Preferred

  • Experience within a fast-growing healthcare or startup environment.
  • Exposure to revenue analytics and financial operations.
  • Experience supporting financial reporting and reconciliations.

Working Hours

This role supports US operations and requires availability during US Eastern Time business hours.


Mandatory working hours:

Monday to Friday: 5:30 PM โ€“ 2:30 AM IST
