Key Responsibilities:
Tax Strategy, Litigation & Dispute Resolution:
- Lead direct and indirect tax litigation matters across Income Tax, GST, TDS, & other regulatory forums.
- Formulate and execute litigation strategies, including evaluation of appropriate appellate forums such as DRP, CIT(A), ITAT, High Courts, and other judicial authorities.
- Review assessment orders, identify litigation risks, and develop strategies to mitigate tax exposure.
- Manage tax audits, assessments, investigations, notices, appeals, and dispute resolution processes.
- Coordinate with tax authorities, external counsels, and consultants on litigation and regulatory matters.
- Minimise tax exposures and strengthen overall tax governance framework.
- Provide tax advisory support on business transactions, financing arrangements, restructuring initiatives, and commercial contracts.
Tax Compliance & Regulatory Management:
- Oversee direct and indirect tax compliance across the entity, including return filings, statutory reporting, and regulatory submissions.
- Manage GST compliance, annual returns, reconciliations, refund applications, and input tax credit optimization initiatives.
- Monitor developments in tax laws and regulations and ensure timely implementation of compliance requirements.
- Partner with business teams to identify tax-efficient solutions while maintaining regulatory compliance.
- Drive and lead tax audit closures
- Ensure compliance with transfer pricing guidelines and APAs (Advance pricing agreements)
- Engage and collaborate with external tax consultants and advisors
Commercial & Risk Management:
- Review financing and commercial agreements and assess financial, tax, accounting, and compliance implications.
- Coordinate approvals, waivers, and compliance requirements under financing (if any) and shareholder arrangements.
- Monitor contractual obligations and develop frameworks to mitigate financial and compliance risks
- Partner with CFO, senior management, HQ teams, auditors, investors, lenders, consultants, and legal advisors on strategic tax/ business matters.
Qualifications:
- Financial Graduate or Chartered Accountant with core experience in corporate taxation
Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in taxation and accounting
- Experience working in multinational corporations with strong engagement with Headquarters outside India and global reporting frameworks preferred
- Strong background in tax, financial reporting, accounting & monthly book closure
- Hands-on experience on tax filings, assessments and interaction with Tax authorities
- Experience in managing finance & tax for multi-product or multi-business environments
