We are WSP The Opportunity – Build the Future with Us As a Project Controls Manager within our Transportation Systems – Rail & Transit team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping some of Canada’s most complex and transformative infrastructure projects.
Reporting to the Director, Project Controls , you will lead project controls excellence across major rail and transit programs—driving financial discipline, schedule certainty, risk visibility, and informed decision‑making that enables successful delivery. Your Impact Lead project controls functions across major, complex Rail & Transit programs, ensuring cost, schedule, and scope alignment Establish strong project governance and act as a trusted interface between clients, project teams, and internal Project Controls leadership Drive budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, earned value management, and financial reporting with accuracy and insight Develop, manage, and maintain baseline budgets, schedules, and work breakdown structures to control hours and expenditures Identify risks, opportunities, and deviations early, proposing practical mitigation and recovery strategies Lead WBS and project coding structures in Primavera P6, collaborating closely with planners and schedulers Prepare and present clear, concise operational reporting to senior and executive leadership to support strategic decision‑making Review and approve client billings, track payments, and oversee sub‑consultant financial performance The Skills That Set You Apart 10+ years of progressive experience in Project Controls Manager or Project Controls Lead roles Proven experience delivering major, multidisciplinary, complex infrastructure projects, ideally within Rail & Transit Post‑secondary diploma or degree in project management, finance, business, or a related field Advanced expertise in Primavera P6, Microsoft Excel, and project cost estimating tools Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities, with the ability to translate data into actionable insight Exceptional organizational, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills Ability to thrive in fast‑paced environments, balancing multiple priorities amid change and ambiguity Compensation AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $147,500 – $195,400 MB & ON: $134,600 – $184,600 NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $133,200 – $176,900 Disclosure: The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
