Responsibilities

  • Research external requirements, such as regulatory requirements or local standards, that impact our products that are typically deployed globally and must comply with local laws and practice.
  • Collect and present data to support new feature proposals, ensuring product strategy decisions are based on empirical data rather than purely being great ideas.
  • Define customer experience and consumer user journeys to support product definition, collecting and incorporating feedback to ensure optimized features that really meet customer and cardholder needs.
  • Assess the impact of proposed new features on existing products or other products such that investment decisions may be made by the team or by wider management and executive.
  • Own the product feature backlog to be delivered by a small collaborative team of product managers and software engineers, often working with external vendors to deliver proof‑of‑concepts.
  • Apply best practices from previous industry experience whilst following our internal product development lifecycle and other in‑house processes.
  • Develop customer‑facing product documentation that, whilst often technical in nature, needs to reach a non‑technical, business‑oriented audience worldwide.
  • Represent your team and product sharing progress in regular working‑level forums.
  • Participate and contribute to the Product Guild to share experiences, learn best practices and develop new skills.

Qualifications

  • Currently working as a product manager with an agile team delivering native mobile apps on iPhone and Android.
  • Currently working as a product manager with an agile team delivering server‑side, backend application products deployed in public cloud.
  • Comfortable working in a team that’s exploring and defining new ways of working.
  • Enjoy sharing knowledge and experience with colleagues.
  • Have defined and delivered technology products deployed into cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or Google Cloud.
  • Skilled in market analysis and product feature definition, and articulating the value of product features.
  • Currently using generative AI to bring efficiencies across the whole product development journey.
  • Fluent in English, both verbally and in written form – high quality documentation is a key driver of successful customer outcomes.
  • Excited to deliver applications that have global impact and are used daily by hundreds of millions of people.

Preferred

  • Understanding of the card payment ecosystem – from the perspective of a merchant, payment processor or card issuer.
  • Experience with collaboration tools to manage product evolution – such as Aha!, Confluence and JIRA.
  • Foundation in computer science, algorithms, data structures, object‑oriented development, cyber security, design patterns and core computer science concepts.
  • Software engineering background, having coded in previous roles and comfortable interpreting technical designs, data models, and application code.
  • First‑hand experience delivering products that use a wide range of technologies – apps on iOS and Android, databases, messaging, caches, API gateways, networking, pipelines, cryptography, HSMs, and preferably the products we use such as Jenkins, Splunk, Oracle, Apache Kafka, Redis and NATS.

Our teams and values: We work within small collaborative teams consisting of software engineers and product owners; our customer’s success is at the core of what we do; we are diverse and inclusive teams from many backgrounds and with many experiences; we believe in doing well by doing good through inclusive growth and making ethical and environmentally responsible decisions.
