Manager - Finance

POSITION PURPOSE The role will support the finance function across financial reporting, MIS, budgeting, and compliance, with specific responsibility for financial analysis and business partnering across Essar’s Metals & Mining portfolio. The incumbent is expected to bring direct sector familiarity — enabling faster onboarding and meaningful contribution to portfolio-level financial oversight from day one. POSITION REQUIREMENTS Education CA or MBA (Finance) from a recognized institution.

Experience 4–5 years of post-qualification experience in finance, accounting, or FP&A. Prior experience in a Metals & Mining company, or in a finance role with direct exposure to the sector — mandatory. Steel industry background strongly preferred.

SKILL/COMPETENCIES REQUIREMENTS Solid command of Ind AS / Indian GAAP, direct and indirect taxation, and financial reporting. Proficient in Excel-based financial modelling and MIS preparation. Good communication skills — able to present financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.

Proficiency in MS Office (data analysis and reporting). Strong understanding of financial concepts — including valuation, capital structures, returns analysis, and investment evaluation frameworks. Demonstrated ability to assess financial opportunities and support business development and evaluation of new investments.

Proficient in building financial models and preparing high-quality PowerPoint presentations for external stakeholders, potential investors, and senior leadership. NETWORK WITHIN THE ORGANIZATION OUTSIDE THE ORGANIZATION Shareholders Business and function heads Finance and accounting team Compliance and legal team Advisors Legal firms and Lawyers Banks Income Tax department External M&A agencies and consultants # AREA KEY ACTIVITIES 1 Financial Reporting & MIS Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual MIS reports covering P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow across entities. Support consolidation of financials across group entities and assist in preparation of management accounts.

Maintain accurate books in compliance with Ind AS / Indian GAAP and assist in statutory close processes. 2 Budgeting & FP&A Support the annual budgeting and forecasting cycle — collating inputs, building projection models, and preparing variance commentary. Track actuals vs. budget on a monthly basis and flag material deviations with analysis. Assist in preparation of financial presentations for senior leadership and board-level reviews. 3 Sector-specific Financial Analysis Apply working knowledge of Metals & Mining business economics — including cost structures, capex cycles, commodity price sensitivity, and working capital dynamics — to financial analysis and reporting.

Support financial due diligence and monitoring for investments in the Metals & Mining space. Assist in benchmarking portfolio company performance against sector peers. 4 Compliance & Control Ensure timely compliance with direct and indirect tax obligations — TDS, GST, advance tax — in coordination with tax advisors. Support internal and statutory audit processes, including preparation of schedules and responding to auditor queries.

Maintain adherence to internal financial controls and documentation standards.
