Job Description

Manager โ€“ BIS Compliance and Supply Chain, India will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the Bureau of Indian Standards compliance and entire supply chain process from procurement to delivery. This includes planning, coordinating with the factories and monitoring logistics operations such as warehousing, inventory, transportation and customer service to ensure the efficient and cost-effective flow of goods. Key responsibilities: Ensure Bureau of Indian Standards compliance for the India Alignment with Factories on the compliance labelling and dispatch process Develop and implement supply chain strategies that support business goals.

Vendor Management Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for supply chain and logistics functions in accordance with Bureau of Indian Standards compliance Identify process bottlenecks and implement solutions for improvement. Oversee import / export operations and ensure compliance with international regulations. Implement risk management strategies related to supply chain disruptions Product compliances BIS replated queries and liaison with the local offices Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) Compliance Ensure end-to-end compliance of all applicable products with Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) regulations for the Indian market Coordinate product registration, renewal certification, testing requirements and documentation submissions with BIS authorities and approved laboratories Maintain a tracker for all BIS-certified articles, renewal timelines, pending approvals and regulatory updates Liaise with local BIS offices and authorities to resolve queries, escalations and compliance-related matters Regulatory monitoring and intelligence: Proactive monitoring of regulatory changes, trends, recalls and competitor issues in India Compliance risk assessment: Supporting structured compliance risk assessments beyond operational or supply chain risks Product Compliance & Labelling Full compliance coverage: Ensuring oversight of all product compliance areas relevant to ECCO products in India (e.g. labelling, environmental requirements, reporting, EPR, etc.) Align with factories and relevant stakeholders on compliance labelling requirements, packaging standards and dispatch processes for India-bound products Validate that all mandatory markings, labels, manuals and product information comply with Indian regulatory requirements before shipment Conduct periodic compliance audits to ensure adherence across sourcing, packaging and logistics processes Work closely with external consultants Representation Role (Internal & External): Strengthening the roleโ€™s positioning as a key compliance interface: Participation in global compliance initiatives and alignment with Group Product Compliance Active involvement in local industry associations, working groups and trainings Acting as the primary point of contact for compliance topics, including recalls and interactions with authorities Supply Chain Strategy & Operations Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with business growth, inventory efficiency and market requirements.

Coordinate with sourcing teams, factories, logistics partners and distributors to ensure timely and compliant product availability Manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, testing agencies, freight partners and regulatory consultants Conduct regular reviews with partners to improve operational efficiency and compliance adherence Import / Export & Logistics Compliance Oversee import and export operations ensuring adherence to Indian customs regulations, BIS requirements and international trade laws Ensure all shipping documentation, certifications, invoices and declarations are accurate and compliant Coordinate with CHA/logistics teams for customs clearance and issue resolution KPI Monitoring & Process Improvement Monitor and report key supply chain and logistics KPIs including lead times, compliance status, shipment delays, fill rates and clearance timelines Identify operational bottlenecks impacting supply continuity or compliance approvals Risk Management: Identify risks related to regulatory delays, certification lapses, supply disruptions or shipment non-compliance Develop contingency plans and mitigation strategies to minimize business impact Stay updated on regulatory changes impacting product imports and market access in India Education Technical Degree in Product or related field Or Masterโ€™s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration or related field Or Masterโ€™s degree or certifications (e.g., CSCP, CPIM, PMP, Six Sigma) preferred Or LLB Experience At least 7 years of experience in either in supply chain/ logistics or operations and compliances Experience within retail and/or fashion industry with international exposure will be added advantage Understanding and experience of product compliance as per regulatory authorities Knowledge and extensive experience of customs regulations, import/export laws, and transportation management Knowledge of working with Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and relevant certification. Competencies Strong negotiation and communication skills Able to adapt and displays constructive & proactive behaviour Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), logistics software, and MS Office Excellent organizational and project management skills Mandatory Open to Work from Office (Lower Parel) Open to travel in India & global factories/offices
