Job Description
1. Job Summary: Augment Simulation India is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Biomedical Engineer (preferable) to lead the technical operations, maintenance, and support functions of advanced healthcare simulation centres located in Mumbai and Bangalore. The role involves managing high-fidelity patient simulators, task trainers, audiovisual systems, simulation software platforms, networking infrastructure, and related biomedical equipment.
The successful candidate will ensure uninterrupted operation of simulation centres, coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities, provide technical support during simulation-based training programs, and conduct onsite service visits to client institutions across India for installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical follow-ups. Cities - Mumbai & Bangalore. 2. Duties and Responsibilities Simulation Centre Operations & Technical Management Oversee the day-to-day technical operations of simulation centres and ensure optimal functionality of all simulation equipment.
Manage setup, calibration, programming, operation, and maintenance of high-fidelity simulators, task trainers, ultrasound simulators, VR simulators, and associated technologies. Prepare and configure simulation environments according to faculty and course requirements. Support simulation sessions by operating simulator software, physiological models, and audiovisual systems.
Ensure simulation rooms, control rooms, and equipment are maintained in a clean, organized, and operational state. Coordinate technical logistics for workshops, conferences, demonstrations, and training programs. Equipment Maintenance & Service Management Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all simulation and biomedical equipment.
Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and system integration issues. Perform routine inspections, repairs, upgrades, firmware updates, and calibration activities. Maintain detailed service records, maintenance logs, and asset management documentation.
Liaise with manufacturers and vendors for warranty support, repairs, and technical escalations. Monitor equipment performance and recommend replacement or upgrade plans when required. Client Service & Field Support Conduct onsite visits to medical colleges, simulation centres, and healthcare institutions for: Equipment installation and commissioning Preventive maintenance services Breakdown troubleshooting and repairs Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) support Technical audits and inspections Customer training and product demonstrations Build and maintain strong relationships with clients through timely service delivery and follow-up.
Prepare service reports and provide recommendations for equipment optimization and lifecycle management. Support pre-sales and post-sales technical activities when required. Technical Training & User Support Train faculty, technicians, healthcare professionals, and simulation staff on the proper use and maintenance of simulation equipment.
Develop user guides, SOPs, troubleshooting manuals, and technical documentation. Assist in simulation scenario programming and customization based on educational objectives. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and simulation technicians.
Inventory & Resource Management Manage inventory of simulators, spare parts, consumables, and accessories. Maintain stock levels and coordinate procurement of replacement components. Track equipment utilization and ensure compliance with maintenance schedules.
Support budgeting and planning for technical infrastructure and equipment procurement. Quality, Compliance & Safety Ensure compliance with institutional safety standards and manufacturer guidelines. Maintain documentation in accordance with quality management practices.
Participate in risk assessments and technical audits of simulation facilities. Support accreditation and regulatory requirements related to simulation centre operations. Additional Competencies: Willingness to travel frequently across Western and Southern India for service support and client engagements.
Ability to work during workshops, conferences, and special events, including weekends when required.
