About the Role
As Manager, Asset Operations, you will take ownership of the end-to-end trade lifecycle across a broad range of asset classes, ensuring trades are accurately captured, validated, matched and settled for our fund administration and custody clients.
Sitting at the heart of our middle and back office, you will work closely with Custody and Middle Office Operations, Corporate Actions, Fund Accounting and external counterparties to maintain a controlled and efficient settlement environment. This is a hands‑on role where you will personally manage trade operations while helping build scalable processes and controls as the function grows.
Key responsibilities include
- Capture, enrich and validate trades across all asset classes into FIS InvestOne (IBOR/CBOR), validating trade economics, static data and standing settlement instructions prior to matching.
- Ensuring straight-through processing where possible and manage manual trade entry with appropriate controls.
- Managing trade matching and affirmation through CTM, resolving unmatched, alleged and mismatched trades with brokers and the sub-custodian.
- Instructing and monitoring settlement, ensuring timely settlement at market via the sub-custodian.
- Monitor and manage settlement fails, pre-matching exceptions and cash/stock discrepancies, chasing and resolving fails with counterparties.
- Acting as the first point of escalation for trade breaks across internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintaining trade, security master and settlement reference data accuracy across books of record.
- Establish and document maker/checker controls, procedures and SLAs for trade operations, and support onboarding of new client trading flows.
About you!
You'll bring:
- Tertiary qualification in Finance, Business, Commerce or related discipline, or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated experience in trade operations, settlements or middle office within fund administration, custody or asset management
- Hands‑on experience across the trade lifecycle in a managed funds environment, including resolving fails and exceptions with brokers and custodians
- Strong attention to detail and risk awareness, with sound judgement under deadline pressure
- Confident counterparty and stakeholder engagement
- Ability to balance processing efficiency with control and client outcomes
- Experience with CTM and an investment accounting/IBOR platform (FIS InvestOne), Bloomberg and advanced Excel
- Ability to operate autonomously and build a function, coaching analysts as the team grows
