Position Overview: Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Accounting the Manager, Accounting will serve as a key member of the finance & accounting team. The position will be primarily responsible for daily accounting activities, as well as supporting the preparation of entity level and consolidated financial statements and reports for the company.
The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in accounting within energy or tangential sectors and thrives in a fast-paced growth-oriented environment with complex capital structures. Role and Key Responsibilities: Accurate and timely completion of monthly accounting close. Maintain balance sheet account reconciliations, including intercompany account reconciliations.
Coordinate with Treasury department monthly to assist with clearing intercompany & related party balances. Assist in developing lower-level staff’s understanding of more complex areas of GAAP and ASC guidance. Support preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual internal financial reports and statements.
Support preparation of quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements, and footnotes, for various issuing entities. Provide support to Accounts Payable. Prepare necessary deliverables for the external auditor’s annual audits.
Conduct research and analysis on technical accounting issues, as requested. Assist in preparing information to support tax filings. Assist Accounting team in supporting strategic transactions including asset acquisitions and post-transaction integration.
Perform ad hoc projects and conduct financial analysis as needed. Other duties as assigned. Professional and Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required; a master’s degree is preferred.
A minimum of 5 years of accounting and financial reporting experience. Prior work history that includes experience from a Big 4 accounting firm is highly preferential. CPA is preferred.
Strong knowledge of accounting and financial reporting, including generally accepted accounting principles. Must demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to prioritize. Ability to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and manage several projects simultaneously.
Position requires professional written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to establish strong working relationships. Experience in the energy industry is preferential. The candidate will be required to be in office a minimum of 4 days a week.
