About the Company

Our client is a well-established, growing financial services organisation with a strong reputation in its sector. As part of continued growth, they are looking to strengthen their finance team with an experienced Management Accountant.


The Role

This role produces accurate and timely management information, supports month-end and year-end finance processes, and provides high-quality financial analysis and operational support across the finance function. In addition to core management accounting duties, the role takes responsibility for billing activity and provides operational cover for other finance roles, including the Senior Accounts Executive and Credit Controller, as required in a busy, fast-paced financial services environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate and timely management accounts, variance analysis and departmental reporting for senior stakeholders
  • Produce and distribute weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual management information reports within agreed deadlines
  • Analyse financial performance and key operational data, presenting findings clearly to non-financial colleagues
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and ad hoc reporting requirements for senior finance leadership
  • Take day-to-day responsibility for billing activity, ensuring bills are produced accurately and promptly
  • Prepare journals, reconciliations and accounting postings, ensuring transactions are accurately recorded and reviewed
  • Support payroll preparation, pension contributions, PAYE, VAT returns and other routine statutory submissions
  • Provide effective cover for other finance team roles during periods of absence, leave or peak workload
  • Support process improvement, system updates and ad hoc finance projects
  • Carry out duties in line with internal controls, regulatory requirements and company procedures, escalating issues promptly


What You'll Need


Essential:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Management accounting, reporting and analysis experience
  • Proficient in MS Office, with advanced Excel skills and experience of finance systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an eye for detail
  • Excellent communication skills, able to explain financial information clearly to non-financial colleagues
  • Able to work independently, manage competing priorities and provide flexible support across billing and wider finance duties

Desirable:

  • Previous financial services finance experience
  • Accounts preparation experience
  • Experience of billing, credit control and supporting operational finance processes
  • Experience of payroll, VAT and regulatory compliance activity
  • Experience providing cover across different finance team roles
