A maintenance technician is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and preventive maintenance of buildings, equipment, and systems, ensuring safe and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance technicians perform a wide range of tasks to keep facilities operational, including:
- Inspecting buildings, equipment, and systems to identify issues and
- potential hazards (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and mechanical
- systems)
- Performing routine repairs and preventive maintenance to avoid
- equipment breakdowns
- Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, or plumbing problems and
- implementing solutions
- Conducting minor carpentry, welding, metal or plastic fabrication, and
- other general maintenance tasks.
- Oversee inspection, servicing, and repair activities of all fleet vehicles
- Perform a range of tasks related to maintaining cleanliness in public areas
- Maintaining records of maintenance work, inventory, and supplies
- Coordinating with vendors or specialists for tasks beyond their expertise,
- such as major electrical or HVAC work
- Ensuring compliance with safety and health regulations
Required Qualifications
Required Skills
- Strong technical knowledge across multiple trades (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, mechanical systems)
- Hands-on experience with tools, machinery, and building systems
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Effective communication and organizational skills
- Physical capability to perform demanding tasks, including lifting, climbing, and working in varied environments
Remuneration and Benefits
$27.83 - 34.54 hr
Drivers Abstract Required
Successful applicants will be required to provide a Drivers Abstract prior to their first day of work.
Criminal Record Check Required
Successful applicants will be required to agree to a Criminal Record Check prior to their first day of work.
