Astro Hill Complex – Iqaluit, NU

Salary: Starting at $85,000 per year
Location: Iqaluit, Nunavut
Relocation Required – Relocation assistance available

Astro Hill is seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Technician to support the operation and maintenance of our residential and commercial properties in Iqaluit, Nunavut. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced maintenance professional looking to build a rewarding career in Canada's North while contributing to a vibrant and growing community.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general building maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance programs.
• Diagnose and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
• Respond to maintenance requests and emergency service calls in a timely manner.
• Complete unit turnovers, including repairs, inspections, and renovations.
• Conduct routine inspections of building systems and equipment.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with applicable regulations and company standards.
• Assist with contractor coordination and project work as required.
• Participate in an on-call rotation as needed.

Qualifications

Required

• Valid driver's license.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in commercial, residential, or industrial maintenance.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to perform physical work, including lifting, climbing, and working in varying conditions.

Preferred

• Journeyperson trade certification (Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry, HVAC, Millwright, or related trade).
• Building Operator or Facilities Maintenance experience.
• Experience working in remote or northern communities.
• Knowledge of building automation, HVAC systems, and commercial building operations.
