The medicine service is a teaching service (residents, students) that would round with the physician during the day. There is also overnight home call. at our facility. There is either an internresident team in house or an NP in house to cover the service and do admissions, but the attending takes admission phone calls from the ED and is available to the in house team for backup/assistance.
