Lee Health Heart Institute is currently seeking a Heart Failure Cardiologist with expertise and training in advanced heart failure, mechanical circulatory support and heart transplantation to join the Advanced Heart Failure Center at HealthPark Medical Center the Lee Health Heart Institute in Fort Myers, Florida. This is an integrated AHF cardiology and surgical program that provides high-quality, comprehensive care in all spectrums of diagnostic and therapeutic heart failure service.

No implant LVAD at this time. The patients to be seen are advanced heart failure, cardiogenic shock and hear failure patients. In the clinic, the physician sees patients on their own.

In hospital setting, most days an APP rounds with the physician but there are days (PTO and CME) than an APP is not present. *overnight, yes, with a pager for the call piece. rounding and participation in multidisciplinary rounds on the weekends Will be rounding on inpatient AHF service as well as ambulatory care of heart failure patients. 8-12 inpatient ; outpatient 2-4, 15 patients a day. Inpatient has intermittent inpatient APP, office has a customer service rep, MA, RN. No Call, no weekend call, must work onsite.

NP support available inpatiant and outpatient most of the time. NO PROCEDURES. Schedule is monday through Friday/ monthly: Ambulatory hours M-F 8a-5pm; Inpatient hours M-F 8a-5pm Looking for ASAP starts to help 1 week per month.

Qualified Candidates Should Be: BC/BE by the ABIM in Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant Completion of an ACGME accredited heart failure fellowship Proficient in management of short-term mechanical support devices including Impella and ECMO More than 5 years post-fellowship experience is preferred Eager to work in a growing, high-volume practice and have excellent interpersonal skills. Effective communication skills in order to collaborate in a large multidisciplinary team approach to care.
