We foster a collaborative environment where team members contribute directly to operational reliability, herd health, and the delivery of safe, wholesome dairy products to our regional markets Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Livestock Inspector role based in Wayanad. The Livestock Inspector will conduct routine inspections of cattle and other dairy livestock to assess health, hygiene, and living conditions.

Responsibilities include monitoring animal nutrition and welfare, identifying signs of disease or distress, and ensuring compliance with veterinary guidelines and relevant regulations. The role involves maintaining accurate records of inspections, advising farmers on best practices in breeding and herd management, and supporting milk quality assurance through regular checks at farms and collection points. The Livestock Inspector will collaborate with veterinary professionals, farm staff, and quality teams to promptly address issues and improve overall herd health and productivity.

Qualifications Strong knowledge of livestock health, dairy cattle management, and basic veterinary practices. Ability to identify common livestock diseases, assess animal welfare, and apply preventive care measures. Experience with farm inspections, record keeping, and compliance with local agricultural and animal health regulations.

Effective communication skills for working with farmers, veterinary personnel, and internal quality teams. Ability to work independently on-site, travel between our farms, and manage inspection schedules. Basic data entry and reporting skills for maintaining inspection logs and health reports.

Relevant diploma or degree in Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agriculture, or related field is preferred. Prior experience in dairy or livestock inspection roles is an advantage; familiarity with regional farming practices is beneficial. Key Responsibilities Health & Welfare Audits : Conduct routine physical health inspections of dairy cattle to evaluate overall well-being, milk production metrics, and udder health.

Artificial Insemination (AI) : Perform accurate heat detection, manage cryo-preserved semen inventory, and execute precise bovine artificial insemination procedures to maximize conception rates. Disease Prevention & Biosecurity : Monitor parlor sanitation, enforce strict biosecurity measures, and isolate cattle showing signs of mastitis or infectious diseases. Medical Administration : Administer necessary vaccines, reproductive hormones, and preventative treatments under the guidance of the consulting veterinarian.

Facility Inspections : Audit structural safety, ventilation, feeding systems, and water access points in barns, milking parlors, and calf pens. Compliance Documentation : Generate detailed inspection reports, maintain dairy herd improvement (DHI) records, track cattle movement permits, and process milk quality samples. Stakeholder Liaison : Collaborate actively with state veterinary agencies, dairy cooperatives, and internal farm management to maintain top-tier industry benchmarks.
