Job Description
Our client, a leading global professional services firm with a well-established actuarial practice, is seeking a Life Actuarial Manager to join its Risk Consulting team on a permanent basis.
This role is based in Dublin and offers exposure to a broad range of life and non-life business consulting and audit services, working closely with actuarial teams across the UK and Europe on multi-service line engagements. The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery and management of actuarial projects, while also supporting the development of junior colleagues. This is a strong opportunity to join a growing team of talented and ambitious actuaries.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the successful delivery and management of actuarial and multidisciplinary projects, including client relationships and internal team performance
- Drive the production of client deliverables with an emphasis on quality and teaming
- Assist with the management and development of junior colleagues
- Develop several areas of technical excellence and contribute to research and development supporting the growth of these fields
- Adopt an account management mindset, identifying client-specific needs and promoting the firm's strategy, services, and values
- Take the lead confidently in both client interactions and with junior colleagues
- Work across a broad range of assurance and business consulting projects, building a network through multi-disciplinary engagements
Requirements
- Qualified Actuary, with a minimum of 3 years PQE and over 6 years' total experience in life insurance, reinsurance, or life consultancy, preferably with IFRS 17 or related experience
- Excellent technical and analytical skills
- IT programming (e.g. asset/liability model development) or actuarial software experience (e.g. MoSes, Prophet)
- Awareness of the challenges facing the life insurance industry
- Previous experience in at least two of the following: IFRS 17, Solvency II, Financial Reporting, Capital and Risk Management
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Professional attitude, confident dealing with clients, and comfortable managing multiple tasks to deadlines
