Job Description
Your Opportunity: Reporting to the Unit Manager, Women’s Health Ambulatory Care, Foothills Medical Centre, the Licensed Practical Nurse provides excellent, evidence-based nursing care, education, assessment, and support to women in a Urogynecology-focused outpatient setting. The LPN is fully competent in: providing minor surgical support to physicians, has the ability to make professional assessments and judgements of patients’ health statuses and concerns, possesses strong organizational skills, and is an expert team member. This position requires nursing knowledge related to gynecology and/or urology.
Excellent communication skills are required with demonstrated ability to interact with numerous members of the health care team and partners of the Pelvic Floor Program. Description: As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies, and procedures.
You will play a key role in providing safe, high quality, patient and family centred care while reflecting the shared vision and values of the organization. Active, or eligible for, registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA).
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications Recent experience (within the last 2 years) in Women’s Health Outpatient Clinics or relevant Acute Care Experience in Gynecology or Women’s Health. Demonstrated effective time management, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Proven ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a healthcare team environment. Recent (within the last year) Connect Care and Netcare experience.
Ability to adhere to policies and procedures and legislated requirements regarding confidentiality. Up to date ROL Modules (previously ACE). Demonstrated ability to manage wellness at work.
Physically able to perform all assigned tasks: Assisting patients with limited mobility to transfer to and from exam table (lift greater than 50 pounds), walking, squatting, standing and/or sitting for extended periods. Preferred Qualifications Experience in performing cystoscopy and urodynamics procedures. Connect Care ILT completed for Ambulatory Clinic Nurse.
Experience in assisting with interventional procedures. Experience with Microsoft Office Programs including Outlook, Excel, and Word. #J-18808-Ljbffr
