Job Description

We are seeking to appoint a temporary Lecturer (Teaching-Focused) in Health Psychology who will contribute to the delivery of an innovative and relevant Education portfolio (UG and PGT) in line with the teaching and learning strategy of the School, fully utilising digital platforms. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching and supervision in health psychology, and will assist the School in providing high-quality student support.

About The Person

The successful applicant must meet the following essential criteria:

1. Undergraduate honours or postgraduate degree in psychology or closely related discipline.
2. Have, or be about to obtain, a PhD in a relevant area of psychological research. (PhD must be completed at time of taking up post).
3. Expertise and ability to teach health psychology and supervise student research projects.
4. Teaching experience, using a range of teaching methods to psychology students at UG and/or PGT levels within the last 4 years.

5. Ability to devise, advise on and manage teaching programmes at both UG and PGT levels.
6. The ability to communicate complex information effectively and encourage commitment to learn in others.
7. The ability to deal with student interactions in a professional and competent manner.

This post is available for 10 months. Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
